
The Science club of SHCS, sec 39, LDH, observed World DNA Day 2026, ( 25th April) commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the discovery of the DNA double helix in 1953 and the 23rd anniversary of the completion of the Human Genome Project. The theme for this year, “The Future is Bright,” emphasized the importance of applying genetic knowledge for the betterment of human health and scientific advancement.
On this occasion, the students of Classes XI and XII (Medical Stream) enthusiastically participated in various informative and creative activities to mark the celebration. The students prepared impressive models, charts, and projects related to DNA structure, genetics, hereditary traits, and modern advancements in biotechnology.
A special PowerPoint presentation was also conducted by the students, during which they confidently explained the significance of DNA, the Human Genome Project, and the future scope of genetic research in medicine and healthcare. Their presentations reflected deep understanding, creativity, and a scientific temperament.
Rev. Fr. Sebastian the school Director appreciated the sincere efforts and hard work of the students and encouraged them to continue exploring the wonders of science and technology.
