On 26th April 2025 Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 39 Urban Estate, Ludhiana, organized a highly informative and impactful seminar on "Drug Abuse Awareness to promote awareness and prevention of substance abuse among school students.
The session was graced by Mr. Sumit Sood, PPS, ACP, Ludhiana East, who was invited as the distinguished guest speaker.
Mr. Sumit Sood, drawing from his rich experience in law enforcement, shared real-life incidents and insights about the serious consequences of drug addiction. He spoke passionately about how drugs can destroy lives, careers, and families, urging students to stay vigilant and make informed choices. His interactive session helped the audience — comprising 11th and 12th standard students — understand the long-term physical, emotional, and social effects of drug abuse, and highlighted the importance of saying "no" to peer pressure.
Following his impactful address, a felicitation ceremony was held where Mr. Sood was honored with a memento as a token of gratitude and respect for his contribution towards creating awareness.
The event continued with a Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the students, which creatively showcased the dangers of drug abuse and emphasized the message of choosing a healthy, drug-free life. Their powerful performance received much appreciation from the audience.
A special note of gratitude and deep respect was extended to Principal Sister Crispin Maria for her unwavering support, encouragement, and vision in organizing such a meaningful event that promotes awareness and positive values among students.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing deep appreciation to Mr. Sumit Sood, the Principal, teachers, and all participants for making the event a resounding success. Finally, the session ended on an inspiring note, as everyone present took a pledge to eradicate drug abuse and work towards building a safer, healthier society.
