WITTY WHITMAN’ English Club of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sec-39, Urban Estate, Ludhiana Celebrates Bard’s Birthday & English Language Day

English Language Day 2026 is observed on April 23, a date chosen to commemorate both the birth and death anniversary of the legendary playwright and poet William Shakespeare.

This day serves as a tribute to Shakespeare, whose timeless literary works have profoundly shaped the English language and literature.

The Witty Whitman Club organized a Newspaper Reading Competition for students of Classes III to V, providing them with an enriching platform to enhance their reading skills, pronunciation, and confidence. Students participated with great zeal and showcased impressive expression and clarity.

For the senior students of Classes XI and XII, a Creative Writing Competition was conducted, encouraging them to explore their imagination and express their thoughts inspired by Shakespearean themes and styles.

Adding a touch of warmth to the celebration, a cake-cutting ceremony was also held as a loving tribute to the Bard of Avon. The event was marked by enthusiasm and active participation, making it a memorable occasion for all.
